The UWS Master of Education [MEd] Artist Teacher programme is part of the NSEAD Artist Teacher Scheme, which provides participants with the opportunity to develop and explore ones own visual arts practice within the traditional fields of fine art and design as well as through a range of other practices including public art, performance, film based media and digital art making.
This post graduate qualification will enable teachers (and others) at both primary and secondary school level to develop necessary skills in terms of art practice and pedagogy to meet the challenging educational needs of the 21st century.
Note: this Post Graduate Programme can be exited at PG Certificate or PG Diploma level.
Participants will be:
> provided with a platform to debate ideas of practice and pedagogy
> encouraged to work independently
> able to critically examine and evaluate models of art educational practice and pedagogy in historical and contemporary contexts
> developing curriculum leadership skills > encouraged to question and challenge the beliefs that dominate our
schools today.
